Walking with our team of four-legged animals is great fun! They can be playful or stubborn, mischievous, or calm. Whatever mood they decide to put on that day, they always make their walkers smile, laugh, and feel a whole lot better!
Our’ Animal Walk and Talk’ guided walks are designed to encourage and support participants from ages six and upwards to experience the healing effects of nature, participate in physical activity and engage with their community.
Walking alongside a new animal friend can help awaken our interest in the world. We watch to see what interests or excites them, what they sniff at or choose to eat, what they see in the bushes that we can’t see. It all helps to build that connection between us and nature. Apart from that, it’s also a great way to meet other people and make new friends!
What happens on the day?
Please allow up to 90 minutes for this experience.
On arrival at Pleasant Sense Farm, you’ll be warmly welcomed before meeting and greeting a couple of our animal tour guides.
We’ll then head off on our walk to pick up our next tour guide – Eeyore the donkey!
With our team of tour guides assembled, they decide where they’ll like to take us, with a little help from us of course! Along the way you’ll get the chance to meet some of the other animals on the farm including the cows, alpacas and sheep.
At the end of our walk the animals will lead us back to the house where you can feed them some of their favourite nibbles, have plenty of cuddles and take some photos.
You’ll get to complete the experience by tucking into a yummy morning tea of coffee, teas, homemade scones and muffins! What better way to finish off the morning.
Our goal with you is that you leave the farm feeling happy, connected, loved, and rejuvenated.
Make this a regular health and de-stress activity!
We can guarantee you’ll leave this Animal Walk wanting to do it again! So why not get a few friends together and make it a regular activity each week or once a month? What better and fun way to improve your fitness level, relieve stress and enjoy each other’s company.
Green exercise can alleviate primary symptoms of depression and anxiety, as well as secondary symptoms such as low self-esteem and social withdrawal. Building life skills and developing a sense of self-efficacy are great ways to foster positive mental health. Group activities such as the ‘Animal Walk and Talk’ can promote social interaction and provide opportunities for peer support.
