Educational Farm Experience for Homeschoolers

Come join us on a guided walking tour of the farm as we do our morning rounds! These events are created exclusively for our home educating community.

A truly unique, fun, yet educational experience for students and their siblings. A chance for them to connect with nature, and engage in outdoor learning activities through animal interactions, participating in farm chores and learning about sustainability.

On the farm we’ll come across chooks, cows, calves, sheep, a dog, goats, a donkey, and alpacas. Along the way you’ll be spoiled as you take in the panoramic views, be cuddled by the donkey or hand feed the friendly cows. ‌

A typical tour can include:

Wild animals may also be spotted along our journey, so be prepared for some sporadic learning opportunities!

Tours start at 10am or 11am and go for approximately 1.5 hours. Then we wrap up with a morning tea of baked goods and freshly brewed tea or coffee, fruit juice or rain water!

A chance for the adults to sit back under the pergola and sip your coffee while the students have unstructured play in the natural bush garden. What bliss!

We recommend you set aside 2 hours in total for your educational experience at Pleasant Sense Farm.

Additional Info for Neurodivergent families

Pleasant Sense Farm has a calm and relaxed vibe, with the main aim for participants to connect with nature simply by being present in the peaceful surroundings. The farm experience is suited to all learning levels and there are no expectations to participate in every activity or connect with every animal. Participants can use their own initiative of what feels right for them or what animal they are drawn to.

These groups are small in numbers (which is also preferred by the animals!), allowing each participant to feel included. These tour dates are set aside for your education group only, so other members of the public will not be present.

We have created a pictorial social story specific to Home Education visits which you are welcome to download. Social stories improves understanding of concepts, skills and situations, and might help children learn what to expect in social situations and how to handle these situations.
